Trump snaps, loses it on our own allies - Another Day - Brian Tyler Cohen

BTC: Trump calls NATO cowards for not jumping into the war with Iran. And if those aren't the words of a unifier, I don't know what are. This is just another day.

If there's one type of art Donald Trump is well-versed in, it's the art of the deal, which right now is coming in pretty handy for America. Because as the war with Iran continues, our president is going to have to really sell our allies on the idea of getting involved.

(cut to video from Fox News)
Host: President writing this. Without the USA, NATO is a paper tiger. They didn't want to join the fight to stop a nuclear powered Iran. Now that fight is militarily won with very little danger for them. They complain about high oil prices they're forced to pay, but don't want to help open the Strait of Hormuz. A simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices. So easy for them to do with so little risk. Cowards. And we will remember.

BTC: Yeah, they are absolute cowards for not joining in the fight, says the man whose daddy got a podiatrist to help him avoid going to Vietnam. Although, judging by the state of Trump's ankles, maybe the doctor was right.

But as his administration has told us many times, Donald Trump is a fantastic leader. So maybe all this NATO bashing is an essential part of his broader strategy?

(cut to video)
David Blevens: Some might suggest that he is now preparing for an exit to pass the problem of the Strait of Hormuz to those allies. If we analyze it very briefly, strategically, not that the President necessarily thinks strategically before he posts on Truth Social.

BTC: Oh shit! That was the most polite diss I've ever heard. We got to get this man on gentlemanly roast battle. Mr. Trump is quite famous for being a birther, which is likely because he's able to give birth out of his next vaginal cavity.

I have to say NATO's lack of enthusiasm to jump into the Iran war alongside the United States is pretty surprising considering how much they love us.

(cut to video)
Trump: The world respects us right now more than they have ever respected us before.

(cut to studio)
BTC: And yet, shockingly, saying it doesn't make it true, which means someone better get to work on their vision board.

But our commander-in-chief's rage posting is the result of what some might call terrible planning on his part because none of his NATO allies were actually consulted or advised on the war with Iran, which is a thing that most people do um before starting a war.

There's an order of operations here. You know, the same way people get undressed before getting into a hot tub. Well, most people (inset image of RFK Jr. displayed).

But I guess we shouldn't be too surprised considering Donald Trump hasn't made his case to anyone on why we're at war with Iran, which is why even some of his most ardent ride-or-die supporters won't be giving him extra money to continue.

(cut to video from CNN)
Lauren Boebert: I will not vote for a war supplemental. No, I am a no. I've already told leadership I am a no on any war supplementals. I am so tired of spending money elsewhere. I I am tired of the industrial war complex getting all of our hard-earned tax dollars. I have folks in Colorado who can't afford to live. We need America first policies right now. And that I I'm I'm not doing that.

(cut to studio)
BTC: It speaks volumes when Lauren Boebert can't be convinced, especially because she's a woman who can be convinced to do most things.

Donald Trump went all over the country campaigning on the idea of no wars in the Middle East and now he doesn't have the decency to explain himself. He hasn't made the case to our allies, hasn't made the case to Congress, and he clearly didn't even make the case to the rest of his administration because they can't get their story straight about why we're even there.

(cut to video from CBS Morning News)
Reporter: Speaking to the Senate Wednesday, the director of national intelligence tried to explain why the White House claimed at the start of the war that Iran posed an imminent nuclear threat when the official US intel assessment states the opposite, that Iran's nuclear enrichment program was obliterated in US strikes last summer.

Tulsi Gabbard: It is not the intelligence community's responsibility to determine what is and is not an imminent threat.

(cut to studio)
BTC: Really? I thought that's kind of the uh main responsibility when it comes to the Office of National Intelligence, who put out a document called the Annual Threat Assessment. What are Tulsi Gabbard's briefings with Trump even like then?

Well, Mr. President, as far as a threat goes, the chances are pretty pretty pretty good. Besides NATO countries not wanting to join the United States and sending their sons and daughters to die in an ill-conceived war, even though it is a phenomenal way for their leaders to sell their merch, I imagine they're also a bit hesitant based on statements like this.

(cut to video)
Trump: NATO has treated the United States of America very unfairly.

(cut to video)
Trump: Well, I'm disappointed in NATO.

(cut to video)
Trump: NATO could help us, but they so far haven't had the courage to do so.

(cut to video)
Trump: We spend trillions and trillions of dollars on NATO to defend other countries. And I always said, but if it ever comes time to defend us, they're not going to be there.

(cut to video from Fox News)
Karoline Leavitt: You know, one of President Trump's guiding principles is fairness. And he has long called out NATO for what for being what he believes an unfair alliance uh for the American people, the American taxpayer, and our US armed forces.

(cut to studio)
BTC: I'm sorry, but you can't spend a year talking shit about people and then expect them to immediately get on board with you. Who does Donald Trump think NATO is? Ted Cruz. Trump has not had a single kind word for our NATO allies, but when it comes to someone who is currently engaged in actively helping Iran in the killing of US citizens.

(cut to video from Fox News)
Trump: I get along very well with Putin.

(cut to video from Fox News)
Trump: Oh, he's going to take something. I mean, they fought and he uh he has a lot of property. I mean, you know, he's won certain property.

(cut to video from Fox News)
Trump: He's been very respectful of me and of our country, but not so respectful of others. but he'll uh I'm going to sign this for him, but uh I was sent one and I thought you'd all like to see it. That's a man named Vladimir Putin.

(cut to video from CRUX)
Trump: President Putin was very generous in his feeling toward Ukraine succeeding, including supplying energy, electricity, and other things at very low prices.

(cut to studio)
BTC: Yeah, what a guy. I believe I've even seen Putin's ads. When it comes to our energy prices, we blow the competition away.

Donald Trump's war with Iran is the result of a man completely drunk on power. He was able to watch the dethroning of the president of Venezuela from behind the highly secure catering curtains at Mar-a-Lago so he figured whatever came next would be a walk in the park.

But now this mad king is learning that the country that's been shouting death to America for decades is for some reason not simply caving to America. And now he wants NATO to help him clean up his mess. But our NATO allies might be a tad smarter than everybody else who had assumed that if they just make sacrifices for Trump, capitulate for Trump, that they'll be rewarded for it.

(cut to video)
Unidentified: They're saying, "We know that if we send our soldiers and sailors and ships into the Gulf, if we make sacrifices, they won't be remembered. They know that Donald Trump won't value their contribution. Uh, he won't care about it. And a few months from now, he might not remember it at all."

(cut to studio)
BTC: Oh, he'll remember it. You just won't give a shit. Just ask Michael Cohen, his fixer who did his bidding for decades, or former head of the RNC, Ronna McDaniel, who he scapegoated for GOP election losses, or his former Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, who he called dumb as a rock, or his former press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, who he trashed online, or his own vice president, who he was more than happy to see get fit with a noose.

Donald Trump can call NATO cowards all he wants, but to me, nothing is more cowardly than lying your way into the presidency by telling voters that you're different from previous presidents and then doing the exact same fucking thing they did.

Donald Trump has routinely criticized George W. Bush for the war in Iraq, for getting America entangled in a costly war in the Middle East, and now we're just watching the 2026 redux. And since the bankrupting of our country and the sending of young Americans to slaughter is not being met with rave reviews, surprise, surprise, this president is defensively trying to justify it all with his macho jingoism that nobody's buying either. The chances that America's war with Iran ends up being one of the biggest stains on Trump's presidency and a certifiable clusterfuck for our whole nation as a whole, well, I'd say the chances are

(inset video)
Unknown: Pretty pretty good.

(cut to studio)
BTC: Exactly.
