Montgomery Trucking of Alabama abruptly filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and ceased operations putting 600 truck drivers and 400 other employees out of work. Montgomery is a flatbed trucking company that mainly hauls construction materials. Tarrifs on steel, aluminum, lumber and other materials have dramatically reduced the need for trucking. In addition, construction slowdowns caused by the rapid disappearance of immmigrant labor is a factor.

Before the Bureau of Labor Statistics quit doing so, job losses in the transportation industry numbered 20,000 over two months. This latest bankruptcy comes on the heels of that.

The entertaining trucker who makes this and other trucking industry related videos points to Trump’s tarrifs for the problems in the tucking industry and across the entire supply chain. He notes empty truck stops where ever he goes. He mentions MAGA tuckers who wonder what’s going on. And he predicts this is only the beginning of even bigger problems in the industry as the effects of tariffs work their way down to the roads and highways. Buckle your seatbelts.
