(56,808 posts)46. Pardoning Trump would NOT have gotten him "off the stage."
It would have been seen as an admission that they were political prosecutions. Trump would have won by even more than he did.

OP
Sounds like Mittens is hoping he isn't on Trumps Retribution List and if so he can get some amnesty

Prosecution was the right thing to do. We have never had a President try to violently overturn an election, on TV.

Unfortunately, didn't work for us, unless you believe trump would have won by 10 points without the indictments, etc.

Relying on courts to determine election by convicting trump is the mistake, IMO.

We were not using courts to "determine an election." We were trying to convict a criminal.

Sorry, we thought he would be eliminated by courts. The right wing talk is trying to convince people

We thought he would be eliminated by the truth. Lies (and sexism and racism) won.

Tough for some to accept truth. Hope we don't run on retribution and payback because we'll lose again.

OK. Still hope we don't run on retribution just because it worked for trump.

Your hope will be fulfilled. We don't run on retribution. We will run on restoring the economy & rule of law. nt
