In reply to the discussion: Mitt Romney reveals he personally urged Biden administration to preemptively pardon Donald Trump [View all]AZProgressive
(29,742 posts)I don't think elections should have anything to do whether Trump or anyone commits a crime. If it comes to anyone else a jury may not find a person guilty the prosecutor should pursue charges if they have enough evidence. Same with Trump but with Trump he would have at least been found guilty in the federal cases. Don't know enough about the Georgia case but the grand jury in Arizona wanted to indict Trump but the prosecutors there begged them not to which I think was a mistake.
Those outside of the swing states may not care much about Trump's crimes or maybe even people in swing states don't care that much but the Republicans contested Arizona's electoral votes for Biden at the moment the Jan 6 rioters entered the Capitol.
I think the mistake was not electing Harris so the cases against Trump could move forward and he would have likely received guilty verdicts.
