In reply to the discussion: I think the Hegseth/Trump MAGA rally staged for stone-faced military brass may be more damaging than anything to date. [View all]DFW
(59,333 posts)21. I think our military brass just got a demonstration of the meaning of "enemies, domestic."
They swore an oath to defend the constitution, but it clearly states that POTUS is Commander in Chief of the armed forces, compos mentis or not. As we are facing, with ever increasing certainty, the not stage, Id hate to have their current dilemma. They cant in good conscience, all resign. If they did, within a week, our entire armed forces would be under the command of present and former Fox Noise personalities, each enthusiastically supported by the entire roster of Congressional Republicans, and each one more clueless than the next. If Trump wanted to bomb Nambia, Hegseth would have planes in the air before any of them realized that there is no such place.

OP
It might be entertaining to have a video of that speech but with the squeaky tank dubbed in for applause lines

Trump and Hegseth believe their own bullshit, and they rarely step outside the bubble of delusion.

It is mindboggling that no one in their offices was aware of the tradition of non-reaction to electeds/appointeds

I am sure they knew about it, but they thought the flag officers would ignore it

And the nation. Take away the "audience response track" and the vile propaganda stands in stark relief.
