... divisions that 47 would conceivably deploy against their fellow Americans. Instead knowing they would have to disobey, they may just opt not to be around. Not good for our prospects as a nation if they do take that way out.

Similarly, those in commands with higher probability of being drawn into a conflict overseas may choose to go to avoid being around when called on to commit war crimes because Hegseth is tossing out the rules of engagement.

I just hope that any person of any rank who has a conscience and is truly clear that they must disobey the regime's illegal orders (i.e., not rationalize that the order is somehow legal under whatever obscene theory the regime offers) stays in and carries out their duty to the constitution and this nation.
