Portland schedules 'Emergency' Naked Bike Ride as protest against Trump

Portlanders will bare arms (and butts and breasts and bellies and…) as a form of protest in less than a week’s time.

Organizers with the World Naked Bike Ride announced Monday that the “emergency” cycling event will take place this weekend at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12.

“Joy is a form of protest,” organizers of the in-the-buff bike ride said in a social media post.

Scantily-clad cyclists are expected to rally against President Donald Trump’s on-again, off-again plans to deploy National Guard soldiers to pacify an allegedly war-torn landscape outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement base in South Portland

The mobilization is currently blocked by a federal judge, but her decision is under appeal and the 9th U.S. Circuit Court could re-authorize the deployment later Monday.

It’s unclear if the protest ride will pedal past the ICE facility. Organizers say the route will be disclosed on Friday.
