4. Back to the bad old days where it was all hidden in the closet.

One of my college classmate's stepfather raped her and threw her out of the house when he found out she was queer. She didn't report him to the police because she feared for her mom's life.

Nobody was sad when that guy died.

He was a pious man. Unfortunately he worshiped a cruel and capricious god.

I'm blunt with people. There are certain religious beliefs that I can't respect and I don't think those beliefs ought to be protected by law.

If a kid who is not straight doesn't want their parents to know it's likely there's a reason for that. It doesn't have to be a life or death reason. It doesn't have to be anything deep. Maybe they don't want to upset grandma.

Some parents... ask any teacher.

I wish that kid the best.
