So the message is that this is God's divine will, Armageddon, the imminent return of JC?

My understanding of US style military religion must be way off.

Seriously, do some people really wish for the End of Days, the rapture, the 'JC comes down to Earth' thing?

Evil in the name of religion is still evil, even more so.
