(17,414 posts)I, too, felt the dread you describe in 2015. In fact, I had a very poignant and uncomfortable conversation with a then boss who normally voted Republican, but didnt want to vote for Trump. They were voting for an Independent. I remember begging that they vote for Hillary and I remember my exact words were the stakes are TOO high.
Some of us knew. Dont let someone tell you that you are overthinking. What we are seeing happening in front of our very eyes is reality. No one is stopping Trump from doing anything he wants and thats what is scary.
Im not sure how we deal with this. But I know one thing and that is to deny what we see would be stupid. Surely, surely SOMEWHERE there is someone who can stop him. Where is that person? I havent seen a Democrat offer a plan of action that seems feasible. I keep hoping. But all Im seeing is rhetoric and sharply worded letters. We need someone who can stand up and fight like the Republicans do. I dont care if they have to cheat. Whatever it takes at this point. Because we are that desperate.
