Taiwan's government would be idiots not to be negotiating a rejoin at this point. Given that some of the highest tech on the planet hangs out in Taiwan, China has even more reason to be delicate with Taiwan, maybe turning it into one of those "special economic zones" for a while. They're winning big with their long game, why stop now? Chinese mega-scaling on the cutting edge of cutting edge "western" tech will be something to behold.
