but another point is being made, and that is that this loser will never pull this off. Roses are best propagated by stem cuttings. Maybe Xi didn't think trump could handle the stems without damaging his tiny fingers.

Yes, roses can be cultivated by seed, but it's a PITA, involving waiting a long time for the rose to turn color to brown, separating out the seed, etc. Survival rate is not very good. However, if trump gives them to an experienced gardener, they might be able to do a somewhat acceptable job. It would be hard to find someone to do it, though, as it is well known the best propagation is done by stem. Hardly anybody does it by seed.

So my point would be that they gave him a difficult task for which he is bound to fail. Loser loser loser!
