9. There's a wide swath of paths between those two options

Trump supporters aren't a monolith as our support down ticket in 2024 was higher than the support for the Harris campaign. Just because some Trump supporters aren't reachable, and just because you don't have the patience to reach out to them (and no judgement on that) doesn't mean others can't do outreach to some they do find potentially reachable.

It's like we likely can't get to zero homelessness because some people won't take medication, or are too far gone due to drug abuse or other anti-social behavior. Doesn't mean we throw our hands up and say we therefore can't do anything about homelessness.

And sincerely I mean no judgement if you aren't in a position to reach out to Trump supporters. You can do other things like helping to get our voters out, or whatever fills your cup in terms of making a difference in your community. All that stuff is good and necessary. I'm not doing much outreach to Trump supporters because I live in a city that went strongly for Harris in a state that went strongly for Harris and I can really only think of one probable Trump supporter that I know in real life. We all have different strengths and skills to help. I mostly volunteer with Special Olympics and food rescue. I donate to animal rescue but don't volunteer with it because it breaks my heart. I simply couldn't handle it even living in a state that has mostly or entirely no kill shelters.
