The pro-Trump management at Paramount Skydance, the parent company of CBS, released a statement of support for conservative CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss after a report indicated that she may be pushed aside.
“Bari has the full support of Paramount and David Ellison as the editorial leader overseeing CBS News and ’60 Minutes,’” a spokesperson told The Wrap.
The statement was released after a report in the outlet Puck reported that Paramount’s senior leadership is exploring the possibility of taking over day-to-day management of programs like “The CBS Evening News,” “CBS Mornings,” and “60 Minutes” amid concerns over Weiss’ lack of experience.
After Republican donor David Ellison—son of billionaire Larry Ellison—took over CBS last year, Weiss’ right-wing site Free Press was acquired by CBS, and she was installed as editor-in-chief.
