My comment about shitshow and corruption is related to our party’s inability to protect or even halt the decline in working class Americans’ economic well-being beginning probably at least 50 years ago. Our inability to do that over that timeframe is what ultimately led to this shitshow.

Did Democrats directly cause that? Of course not. But our perceived ineffectiveness in ensuring the economic security and stability of working class Americans certainly helped create the voter environment that led us to where we are today.

Moderates, centrists, “socially liberal-economically conservative” Democrats played an undeniable role in the long economic backslide that contributed to the “voter environment”.

With all due respect DFW, I could go on, but I’m sure you get my point. Plus typing this on my cellphone is way too challenging — takes way too much time with these clumsy fingers.

I guess I agree in part with my kids, nieces and nephews of which I have many: it’s time for meaningful change. They add “or a new party” to that though.
