We were more courageous in speaking to the public BEFORE the election about what we wanted to accomplish. For several generations, it has become religious doctrine within the party to be evasive about everything during campaigns. I don't think that's the way to win. Maybe it was 20 or 30 years ago. But the people who are pulling off the big wins now are being honest with the people and selling bold ideas
