34. One of the most frequent posters is someone who used to be a good friend.

We met in 3er grade, and lived 8 houses apart for 3 years. Even tho my family moved a few miles away, we remained close thru high school, and then our paths began to diverge. I went to college, she did not. She married early, got divorced, married and divorced a second time, and then married a third time. I got married just shy of 31, and am still with my "first" (and only) husband 44 years later.

She is a saved Christian who thinks everyone else should be, too. I'm a contentedly questioning agnostic Unitarian Universalist. After Barack Obama's first election, I was shocked and disappointed to see her use the term "libtard" in one of her FB posts. I bit back the urge to reply, "Peg, did it ever occur to you that you might be talking about me when you use that word?" Maybe she thinks because we grew up together that I automatically share her views?

I never assume anyone shares my point of view on anything unless they have given some clear indication that they do.

I know we use some very uncomplimentary terms here on DU, and while we are not private, the name makes clear our philosophy. I think it's very rude to do so on a public forum like Facebook.
