And the official reply that was basically "that's not how 25A works and you know it" - so the House followed up with something they actually had the power to do.

And so because Pence declined, you accept HIS response as "the official reply" as being correct and reject the-then Democratic Speaker of the House's assertion as her own "official request"?

You think that the-then SOH had no researched counseling/advice from her legal staff or Parliamentarian?

You prove my point. You guys manage to only show up in these threads to dissuade Democrats from seeking certain processes and procedures (sometimes untested due to unprecedented circumstances) and wave away or even accept, anything illegal that the GOP does, including accepting their "opinion" and framing as valid, as well as ignoring their creation of bogus "loopholes" for themselves, as the only correct answer.

And this is why we are now in the situation that we are in.
