5. This is too much for my heart to take!

Rob last night, Tony today. Take me now, I'll be in good company!

Man, I remember every afternoon there was a whole group of us who always made sure we had the time slot open, and we'd meet in the dayroom at the college to watch General Hospital together. Some of you may understand when I say it was such a HUGE part of my young adult life! The Luke and Laura story line got really convoluted at times, but hea... we all thought it was great fun, and most of us there were wishing WE could find the kind of love story they had. The only thing, for me, that comes close to the General Hospital experience is Dark Shadows... and 5 of us young girls would rush to my house to watch it every afternoon. We'd usually roll into my front door as the first ominous notes of the program started.

I felt really bad (sad) last night at the news of the Reiner's. I thought I'd run through my cat pics on my phone and clean them out. Seeing the babies in their growing years is always good for smiles. Then I ran across the last picture I took of Mom at Christmas last year. It was taken Dec 26, and she died on Jan 3. Then I REALLY felt bad. Took a couple of sleeping pills, turned on Supernatural to lull me to sleep, and winked out for the night.

We've lost so many excellent people this year, it tears me apart. My favorite band, Kansas, might as well change its name for all the originals that are gone. And I don't think I'll ever get over losing Robbie Steinhardt. He, of the torn coveralls and full head of curly read hair, playing violin at my Homecoming Dance. It's just too much. All my heroes are leaving... and leaving me with these evil idiots who should have expired a LONG time ago.

RIP, Luke. You filled a hole a lot of us had in our young, angsty years. Rest in Power.
