I would engage with potential customers when they entered the building and also direct them to my 'sponsors'.

I got a few laughs... but mostly I got paid to sit in the box until someone came up to the door. Easy money. BTW, this was mid 2000s... the net was nothing like it is today. I would usually bring music to play via my iPod nano.
