There's at least a thousand varieties of bananas, but most of us only know the Cavendish variety, because that's the one that gets grown for export. It's also in trouble, from some things I read a few years ago.

Yes, here in Costa Rica, there are 'export' bananas and regular ones on the shelves in grocery stores. Those for sinkingfeeling Monday #2
