Some timeless wisdom from my long-gone grandfather [View all]

My wife and I are going through our--to quote George Carlin--"STUFF."

In one small book of wisdom to our elder daughter, there were bits of rhymes (some quite clever, but all in German) from her then-classmates, but there was, to our great surprise, one page from my grandfather, her great-grandfather. Typical of someone who was either 100 years old at the time, or else very close to it. He wrote what he said was one of his favorite sayings:

"Time is a tailor, specializing in alterations."
