That is the engine of this economy. And mind you Prof Hennessy, not your tacky Google/Facebook crew or this even creepier local crew in India fraudulently going on about open science, mental health, welfare, immigration and pensions. These local guys are a real disgrace. I am filing complaints both in the US and here in India.
So that is one part of what makes me real. You are not going to normalize snooping on NIH postdocs in the US (where it retroactively involved me and I avoid culture wars which would mire a point that universal. And presumably US university research of the best kinds is unlikely to go extinct, but rather maybe have a fresh renaissance after all this and reject the influence of your Google, Zuckerberg and his moll, the Epstein associated MIT Media Lab and all these scurrying little men from 1984 types turned into the jokes they are: Marc Andreessen, Suhail Doshi, Palantir, Anything Alex Pentland, Ben Waber, Aaron Elkins) and pensioners families here in India.
Come on Prof Hennessy, what this is is an even more extractive and sleazy exploitation of this model of globallzation that runs on a fundamental rejection of any limits to growth or concept of homeostasis.
I was reading Yasha Levine again recently and his brain has such a natural fusion with mine. His and Evgenias. Especially because unlike Christopher Ketcham who is more - well he is intuitively one of us Greens who were always dejected by this trend even where human life is not impacted. So I always like people who tap into innate patterns.
But with Yasha it is cool - like learning about a different type of way. Adam Becker again is more intuitively the other part of what makes sense.
You otoh dont make that much sense. Prof Lecun makes more sense.
I used to listen to this a lot years ago as I was writing up my PhD thesis. There was an all doo-wop channel I was fond of.
