2. It's a shame

I actually liked Steyer as a person (met him here at a local event in Glendale that he held in support of my then-rep, now-Senator Adam Schiff). Though I also have reservations about yet another billionaire running for office, Pritzker proves the exception to the rule there and so I would've been willing to give him a chance, especially because I do like some of his proposals.

However, when I recently learned that he made a chunk of his money investing in private prisons, that put the bloom completely off the rose for me. I'm team Swalwell all the way in our election for gov to replace Newsom anyway, but was really, really disappointed to discover that about Steyer.
