1. My first job out of high school was working at the gas station across the street.

This was January1974 (I graduated early) during the Arab Oil Embargo, and the gas pumps would only go to $.49 cents a gallon. When the price went over that he decided to sell the gas by the half gallon, which made sense to me, but you wouldn't believe the people who thought we were trying to rip them off.
