An honorary street name doesn't replace the original street name. According to https://www.honorarychicago.com, "Honorary streets are not official street names, they do not describe an actual address."

The sign used for an honorary street name has a special design and is a different color from the "official" street sign, and is mounted below the official street name, to make it clear which is which.

As far as I know, honorary atreet names are not typically used on letterhead, company documents, etc. and could cause confusion about the correct mailing address if they were. That's what I meant when I said the postal address would be unaffected. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

I imagine Trump might file a law suit to try to stop any honorary street renaming, because that's his go-to for anything he doesn't like, lol. But it would almost certainly be laughed out of any Chicago courtroom.
