the cities solved the problem of having to integrate the public swimming pools by filling them in with dirt -- if EVERYBODY could use the pools, then NOBODY could use the pools.
Seems like that tactic would be effective for the same-sex marriage problem -- if EVERYONE can get married, then NO ONE can be married. Tennessee could have the distinction of being the first state in the nation to deny governmental intrusion into the relationships of consenting adults or the religious rites that those individuals engage in. The state could declare that the term 'marriage' would revert back to its historical foundation as a religious ceremony, and as such, should be completely separate from government, as stated in the US Constitution.
I've been WAITING for the opportunity to put that idea in writing!
