I got my garden in last month, and getting some blooms on some plants now. Looks like something bigger than a bug is knawing on my brussel sprouts. Garden is fenced all the way around, so don't know how something could get in there. I had to replant broccoli, okra, and peppers. I got seeds online from my usual supplier, and only about half came up this year. I'm thinking its just better to go to my local nurseries now. They have a good selection.

The best tomato cages I've found are to cut lengths of farm fence wire, shape it round for each plant, fasten ends with zip ties. Much stronger, taller, and cheaper than store-bought, especially if you brace with a stake. When tomatoes start coming on, I cut 4 or 5 inch squares for my hands to fit through. We also made a trellis for the grapes, and ran lengths of it along the peas and cukes for them to run up with the same wire. Works well.

An old peach tree that we've had several years is finally producing peaches! I was ready to cut it down.
