On 6/7/1892, Homer Plessy was arrested for sitting in “whites only” section of a Louisiana railroad car. The subsequent legal case resulted in Supreme Court’s horrendous 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson decision stating “separate but equal” facilities were constitutional.
