Where have all the birds gone?

1. We noticed incredibly fewer birds this winter & then I read it was one of the driest winters in 20+ years,

& sure enough, after it snowed a couple of weeks ago, birds came back. But overall, we are losing birds to habitat loss & climate change. We have a really small wildlife preserve with a pond nearby, & the number of birds compared to three decades ago when we first moved here, is startling when I think about it.
