I am trying to think back to 2006. Did you change your handle? Though I remember you don’t like handle changes. I remember many mods from back then: TheMagistrate/SheWhoMustbeObeyed; empressofall (lol my ex commented about that 
..many royal names); Shakespeare and Hamlette..they were both from the South and I used to mix them up.
When I came back in 2020 hatrack and TheMagistrate aside, I recognized very few names. I was amused to see that OperationMindcrime was banned . He was off somewhere posting paranoid things about DU. It is really funny. Just after I became a mod he sent me this horrible DUmail saying “Hi nam78_two, I was under the impression you couldn’t stand me.” And something whinge like that. And I think I used to try to be quieter back then so I was impressed that he picked up on that.
Re environmentalism you and I are in a small group that still remembers some of Bill Maher’s positives. He is definitely Greener than some. But that issue is so trivialized he never gets credit for it. He is definitely pro animal rights.
I remember your telling me about your grandparents before - how they traveled all over the world and went to Russia and Ukraine? Not sure if that was the grandmom who was a school-teacher?
My grandmother on my mom’s side had a gold medal in history (her words..she was kind of a braggart), but she never worked and was bitter about my grandfather’s sister who was a history professor in NZ. I guess she had to brag ..
