6. That used to be my job, writing the descriptions for the TV show listings

There were four of us and my networks were CBS and Fox (Fox Entertainment that shows The Simpsons). I considered myself lucky, I had to call the publicists, I was friendly with all of them, especially the one for David Letterman and the one for 60 Minutes. And my main news contact was Dan Rather's publicist. When I had surgery, one of them even called me to see how I was doing. The only ones that were unfriendly were the women at Face the Nation, acted like I was bothering them on Fridays, which I probably was. So the decline of CBS does make me kind of sad. But what makes me even sadder is the loss of Stephen Colbert, I've posted his monologue and opening here on DU since 2017, I think. And any political guests. But they did it to themselves and deserve to lose viewership - or worse.
