... WHY can't these filthy rich assholes just wallow in their wealth and stop trying to ruin everyone else's lives? But I strongly suspect that they didn't get so rich by being nice... or honest.
Daniel Day Lewis' character in There Will Be Blood had a bone-chilling line: "I have a competition in me. I want no one else to succeed."
That diseased sentiment is more common among the wealthy than many of us realize. A lot of them are seriously fucked up people. Just look at Elon Musk and his vile remarks about empathy. That boy's one rotten meat sock.
