He did say in Nicole Williams podcast that Trump voters insulate themselves from facts. Most of the stories now are about the RW backlash especially on Fox.

The actor didn’t waste any time in hitting out at Trump and the voters, who he said are making a conscious effort to hide themselves from the truth of what is going on in the world: “There is no attempt to hide that from the Republican voters”, he said. “It’s ubiquitous. It is. You have to go, you have to make a real effort to stay insulated from the facts.”
“They are, by choice, keeping themselves insulated from those facts”, he added. “Or, when they do hear them, they use their intelligence to discount it and somehow feel more intelligent.”
By this point, there was no way Wallace was interrupting Bateman: “They imagine there’s actually a conspiracy, and that there’s a deep state, and that somehow that’s a more complicated thought—and so that makes them feel smarter.
“It’s not like there’s some big effort to dupe America into thinking that Donald Trump is a bad guy, you know?”
