29. The sole purpose of Primaries appears to be dividing the party...

At least that's how it comes across to me. A better way to do things would be to leave the mudslinging and attack dog behaviour to the internal mechanics of the party and let it decide who the candidates are. Far less drama, though I think the high drama and mudslinging is something a lot of Americans love. Preselection would cut the financial costs, which are obscenely huge in a country where a lot of people are far below the poverty line. Also, while I'm at it, introduce mandatory voting (cuts out the extremists and other highly motivated wankers), only have voting on weekends, and most importantly have sausage sizzles with Democracy Sausages. That'll solve a lot of issues.
